About Code Warriors
Code Warriors is the name of the computer technology club of Delhi Public School, Vasant Kunj. The club was started by Arun Darlie Koshy in 1997. Membership, at that time was limited, with hardly 4-5 members in the group. However, these few gave good competition to other clubs, although still in the learning process. By the end of 1998 the Code Warriors began to show their talent, and had started winning at many events. The real boost though came in 1999, when the Exun 1999 trophy, probably the most coveted in Delhi at that time, came to DPS Vasant Kunj. Year 2001 saw 8 Code Warriors clearing the National Informatics Olympiad, with one clearing the exam and going to represent India in the International Informatics Olympiad held in Korea. The first intra-school Code Wars was also organized this year, bringing new talent to the fore. Since then, the Code Warriors have never looked back, winning event after event, bringing laurels to the school, not to mention 30+ overall trophies and 1000+ individual awards. Code Warriors not only go for competitions (and win them), but have also made many software and services, like N-CryptIt. They also form the core team which started MapMyIndia.com, a service which now powers Yahoo! Maps India.
The recent years have probably been the most eventful in the
history of the Code
Warriors, with the team dominating the inter-school
technology symposium circuit in Delhi. We were the overall
winners at Exun 2007 (sponsored by Pavna Computers), overall winners at
WarP 2007 (sponsored by Samsung), overall winners at Agnel Talent Fest
2007 (sponsored by Career Launcher and Penguin Books India), overall
winners Exun 2006 (sponsored by Hewlett-Packard) – apart from
other overall runners-up positions and outstanding achievements in many
more events.
Code Wars is the annual computer technology symposium conducted the Code Warriors, and has widely been accepted to be one of the most coveted events of the year. Code Wars is known for the intense competition, and has some of the most innovative events.
The Code Warriors continue on their path to success even today...
| Trivia: The official font of the Code Warriors (that's the wacky one we use in our logo and printed material and other stuff) is Jokerman - which also happens to be a song by Bob Dylan. |
